Slip (“the App”) is designed with your privacy first. This policy explains how the App handles information.
The App itself does not collect or transmit your clipboard contents or usage. It performs no analytics, no tracking, and requests no advertising identifiers. App Store communication may occur to display product information, make purchases, restore purchases, check purchase status, and present the App Store's rating request. Any information leaving the App through the contact form or macOS crash sharing occurs only when you choose those features.
The App does not send your clipboard contents anywhere. What you copy never leaves this Mac. App Store communication may occur to display product information, make purchases, restore purchases, check purchase status, and present the App Store's rating request. These communications do not include clipboard contents.
The App keeps the things you copy (text, images, files, and so on) as a history. All of it is stored only on your Mac and is never sent anywhere. Data lives in the app’s sandbox container and is removed when you delete the App.
Copies that a password manager marks as “concealed” (an industry-standard marker) are never saved to your history.
The App asks macOS for two permissions: Input Monitoring, to notice the trigger key (a double-press of a modifier key), and permission to send keystrokes (PostEvent), to press ⌘V for you so the item you picked is pasted into the app you were using. The App does not use Accessibility APIs. macOS lists the keystroke-sending permission under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, so that is where you turn it on; that listing does not mean the app uses accessibility features. Sending keystrokes is optional — without it, your selection is placed on the clipboard so you can press ⌘V yourself. Both permissions are used only for those actions — never to record what you type or to send anything anywhere.
The App never provides or shares your information with third parties for advertising, analytics, or profiling. Third parties are involved only when you choose to use the contact form: as described in section 8, your message and any optional screenshot or diagnostic attachment pass through the providers listed there (Tally, Google, Discord) for support purposes. Your clipboard contents are never passed to them.
The App is rated for all ages (4+) and does not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy as needed. If we make a material change, we will note it on this page.
From the App’s settings you can send a question or feedback. Only if you choose to use this feature, your message, any screenshot you choose to attach, any reply email address you choose to enter, and basic environment details needed for support (such as your OS version) are sent. If diagnostic information is available on your Mac, you may optionally select “Attach the most recent diagnostic report to this support request.” This option is off each time the support window is opened. Diagnostic information is transmitted only if you select the option and press the form’s submit button. It is not transmitted if you leave the option off.
Stored diagnostic information may include technical details about crashes, hangs, high CPU use, or excessive disk writes; when the issue occurred; app, macOS, Mac model, and processor architecture information; and an allowlisted call stack. It does not include clipboard contents, text entered in the support form, email addresses, file contents, file names or paths, screenshots, screen recordings, free-form exception or termination reasons, virtual-memory-region information, or raw memory addresses. Diagnostic information is retained on your Mac for up to seven days, with a maximum of 20 records and 1 MiB in total, and can be deleted from the support window.
If Google Gemini is used to classify a support request, the email address and diagnostic information are excluded from its input. Attached diagnostic information is kept separate from the support message and is processed through Tally, Google Apps Script, and Discord for the developer’s notification. It is used only for support, troubleshooting, and fixing crash or performance problems—not for advertising, marketing, behavioral analytics, or tracking.
To fix problems faster, Slip may use Apple’s MetricKit to receive diagnostic information that macOS generates about Slip. Slip stores a minimized, allowlisted copy on your Mac for up to seven days. Diagnostic information is never submitted automatically. Slip sends only the most recent report, and only after you review the information, turn on the optional attachment setting, and press the support form’s submit button. The attached report is processed through Tally, Google Apps Script, and Discord, and is excluded from input sent to Google Gemini. It is used only for support and troubleshooting, not for advertising, marketing, behavioral analytics, or tracking.
